Molos

Family-friendly, sandy beach 2km from LOFTS

The sandy beach of Molos is less than 2km from the LOFTS the village summer apartments complex in Marmara. The beach is not organized, there is only a small water sports centre where you can rent equipment and take windsurfing lessons.

Molos beach is one of the most suitable options for families; there is ample space for children to play on the sandy beach and, due to its size, visitors never feel it is crowded here. Private boats are often moored in the bay, as it offers tranquility and unparalleled natural beauty.

Molos in Paros offers moments of deep relaxation and a unique beach with crystal clear waters overlooking Naxos. In the southern part of Molos there is a small harbour that hosts fishing boats, a picturesque tavern with delicious local seafood and traditional recipes, as well as the small church of Agios Nikolaos.

You can reach the beach of Molos with your own vehicle or use the Paros bus service (KTEL) which drops you off at the village of Marmara. A visit to Molos on Paros island and its beach is bound to make a mark upon your memory.

Kalogeros

Beach of clay with healing properties just 2.2km from LOFTS

Kalogeros beach is just 2km from LOFTS the village summer apartments complex in Marmara. Kalogeros beach is considered one of a kind. In its northern part, you will find rocks made of clay which is known for its healing properties.

Many visitors spread the clay on their bodies and then sunbathe or, they rub it on their bodies and then wash it off in the sea. The rocks with the singular formations create a special landscape and from the afternoon onwards they offer much-needed shade. This unique beach is part of a Natura 2000 area. As such, it is not organized, so it would be useful to bring all the necessary things you might need with you. The nearest shop is in the village of Marmara, about 2km away.

According to the local legend Kalogeros beach got its name from a monk who committed suicide there by falling off a cliff.

You can reach Kalogeros beach with your own vehicle or use the Paros bus service (KTEL) which drops you off at the village of Marmara. Kalogeros beach offers free parking. Kalogeros beach in Paros is worth a visit, especially if you are looking for a quiet, remote and “virgin” location.

Chrisi Akti

The most popular beach in Paros

Chrisi Akti is one of the best beaches of Paros. It is located on the southeast coast of the island, just 5km from the village of Marmara. This famous beach was named after the colour of the sand, which is like dust of gold.

Chrisi Akti in Paros is world famous among windsurfing enthusiasts. The wind conditions on the beach are ideal for windsurfing and attract professionals and amateurs from all over the world. Chrisi Akti hosted the Windsurfing World Cup for years.

The beach is very well organized, with umbrellas and sunbeds for rent, beach bars, restaurants and water sports centres. The waters are crystal clear.

Access to the Chrisi Akti is easy as there are frequent KTEL bus routes that connect the village of Marmara with the Chrisi Akti. There is also a large parking area near the beach in case you have your own vehicle.

Santa Maria

The beach with crystal clear waters

Santa Maria beach is located at the northwest end of Paros in a large bay at a distance of only 13km from the village of Marmara.

The long stretch of the central beach of Santa Maria consists of fine, golden sand. Its waters are crystal clear with the sand reflecting the sun’s rays and illuminating the seabed all the way.

Following the main beach road, there is a smaller and equally beautiful beach known as Mikri Santa (i.e. Small Santa). It has golden sand, crystal clear and blue waters, and a mesmerizing seabed.

The beach of Santa Maria in Paros is very well organized and satisfies any wish visitors may have. A cosmopolitan beach where you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas, or visit water sports centres and choose among the many available options: windsurfing, sea kayaking, pedalos. There is also a diving school where you can rent equipment or take diving lessons. Along Santa Maria there are beach bars that serve coffee, cocktails, drinks and delicious fingerfood. If you want to enjoy an excellent meal with a sea view, visit the bar-restaurant, located right next to the sea, which serves excellent dishes.

Santa Maria offers a large, free parking area. It is connected to Marmara with regular KTEL bus routes. You can also reach the beach on one of the traditional boats that depart from Naoussa or by your own vehicle.

Kolymbithres

A beach of unique beauty due to a natural geological phenomenon

At Kolymbithres beach you will encounter a singular landscape due to a unique natural geological phenomenon, which you will find nowhere else in Paros. For millions of years, the elements of nature, the wind and water, have sculpted the rocks of the beach, giving them some odd and impressive shapes. The rocks found in this area have natural cavities created by the sea thus resembling actual swimming pools.

The waters in Kolymbithres are crystal clear, warm and do not deepen abruptly, which makes this beach ideal for families with small children. Due to its location, it is well protected so you will seldom encounter waves. The rocks in some parts of the beach offer the visitors shade, however, in the organized part of the beach, you could always rent an umbrella and a sunbed.

Above Kolymbithres beach, on the main road, you will find taverns where you can enjoy excellent local food and coffee with a singular view of the beautiful beach and the endless blue sea.

Kolymbithres beach is 13km from Marmara. You can easily reach it either by the KTEL buses that connect Marmara to Kolymbithres beach, by your own vehicle, or by small boats that depart regularly from the port of Naoussa.
